At 18cm closed it's the slimmest hard shell we make, low enough to clear most car park barriers, low garages, and trail centre height restrictions. The tent that goes where others can't, and opens before you've finished lacing your boots. Packing away is just as quick, which matters when the conditions are changing and you need to move.
Size & sleeping
Millie's mattress measures 200cm by 120cm. Sleeps 2 adults. Designed for people who are out early and back late, which means the sleeping part needs to be right. Comfortable, dark enough, and ready fast. What Millie trades in mattress size versus Betty, it more than makes up for in where it can take you.
Build & materials
German Stabilus gas struts rated to 45,000 cycles. YKK zips. Silicone-taped seams. UV50+ fabric. Hard shell rated to carry a roof load when closed, the only tent in the range that does this. Your bikes, boards, kayaks, or boxes ride on top. Millie is the only Lofti built for people whose kit doesn't fit in the boot because it's already on the roof.
Fitting & compatibility
Millie weighs 61kg. You'll need roof bars with at least 91cm spacing and a dynamic roof bar rating of 80kg or more. At 18cm closed, Millie clears most car park barriers, low garages, and height-restricted entries that stop other rooftop tents in their tracks. Millie is our only model designed to carry a load on top, you'll need to purchase our Lofti Millie roof rails for this. Remember to factor in the extra height, the weight of the bars, and anything mounted on top.
